Recipes and meal ideas for your toddler - Snacks and Desserts

06 Nov 2021

If you’re looking for new snack or dessert ideas to tempt your tireless tots - look no further! In this blog we share some delicious and healthy snack and dessert ideas for your little ones that they won’t be able to resist (and neither will you!).

Snacks

Crunchy granola yoghurt pot

This delicious treat could serve as either a dessert or a snack and is as tasty as it is simple. It’s easy to adapt this recipe, adding in honey, banana and/or nuts for added sweetness and crunch.

Munchable snack plate

This healthy snack is a great alternative to the usual crisps and biscuits, and are even tastier paired up with yummy sauces (warning – it can get messy!). It’s a great way to encourage kids to try new foods and get more of their 5-a-day.

Dessert

Yoghurt cocoa mousse

This chocolatey delight will easily become a family favourite…so remember to make enough to share! Dairy-free? Swap in dairy-free alternatives for milk and yoghurt! Please note, this recipe is not suitable for kids under 12 months.

Berry & honey yoghurt

Another quick and easy yoghurt recipe - this time with fresh delicious berries (you can choose your favourite or include a mix!). As well as being tasty, berries are packed with antioxidants and vitamins, making this a highly nutritious snack or dessert.

Fruit & berry skewers

Combine your favourite fruit and berries into a delicious skewer and be adventurous with the flavours. This is a great recipe to help kids try different fruits, and a good way to get them involved in food prep. Make it even more fun by using cookie cutters to cut the fruit into shapes.

Snacks and desserts are a great way to help your kids get their 5 portions of fruit and vegetables a day, while also getting a tasty treat! Remember to not make portions too big, as too big snacks may put them off their main meals.

We hope you enjoy these tasty recipes. For more recipe inspiration, for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner, visit our blog.
